WATCH YOUR WORDS

Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble.

Yehuda Berg

As cliche as this WORD may sound, it is really important and a lot of people misuse it. You are the creator of your future and it starts with your words. This is a really vast and important topic so I’ll just go right into it.

First of all what are words?

Words are really powerful. Words can save you and it can also destroy you. The moment you speak, you either create or destroy.

If only you know how powerful your words are, there are some statements or jokes that shouldn’t come out of your mouth. Your words are the reflection of who you are, it cannot be different from who you are. Your words can make you and can also break you.

Take a moment and think, ‘What is being seen when your words are squeezed out’?

Your mind and subconscious work with words. It can play on your emotions and also on your intellect. Words can change a person and sometimes without even realizing it.

Like one of my friends said “Words are like water and a small crack in the wall. You don’t know it’s breaking that wall until it finally breaks the whole thing”. You may not see it happening but give it time, it going to break through.

For example: A person who is always called dumb or stupid or not intelligent. It could start as a joke maybe, but it will get to a point that the person can start failing in school/business, etc. Not because the person isn’t intelligent but because of those words said to that person, which has gotten into the person’s subconscious and made the person also believe that they’re probably right about not being intelligent or dump. It wouldn’t change until the person addresses where it’s coming from, which is allowing the words break get in and taking a place in the mind.

Another example is music, do you realize that there are different emotions attached to music? and that is because of the words being said. There are some you’ll listen to and you’ll be sad, another, you’ll be happy and so on.

Can you see the impact on words?

Did you know wherever you are or whatever stage you are right now are based on the things you’ve said or haven’t said. Your words positions you for the future.

You have to be careful about what you say because what you say is programming your brain and your mind to function that way. You might feel it’s not possible or say it’s just words, but when you’re trying to do something and you keep telling yourself you can do it( like verbalize it) and put it to work, one faithful day, you’ll get it. Sometimes it may not look as though you can’t but if you keep pushing through and saying it, you will.

Once you tell you mind you’re not capable, your mind and brain shuts down. It all comes down to even the things you think as normal, such as saying you are broke, you mind automatically starts making decisions of a broke person. Your brain gets cut off from functioning when you say something that is not going to allow you do what you’re meant to do.

For instance, you’re doing something and it gets to the moment when you say you’re tired of doing something, the moment you say you’re tired of doing that thing, have you noticed that’s when you finally stop doing it? and that’s because your brain was made to make you feel right, which will only keep you at a certain level but with your words and action you can achieve things that people think you can never achieve.

Whatever you speak over your life is what it will become whether you like it or not. If you keep talking yourself down, you’ll always remain there. Sometimes, think before you talk. Instead of saying you are a failure, say you are a success and what you thought was a failure will be your success story.

Gandhi said once:” your believe becomes your thoughts, your thoughts becomes your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits becomes your values and your values become your destiny.

When you combine your beliefs with your actions, they become very powerful. Learn to speak positive things into your life even when it feels like things aren’t going how you want them to. Speak your dreams into existence.

Take a look at Muhammad Ali, He believed he was going to be the greatest, he kept referring to himself as The Greatest, and he became the greatest. Whatever you believe is your limit is your limit. Stick and stones may break your bones but your words can shatter your dreams.

Have daily confessions/affirmations, where you say things you want in your life, they reprogram your mind, thought and believe. Do it consistently, every single day. Even if you feel they aren’t working, stick to it because they are.

I would love to hear your thoughts also.
